Let us not forget that Arya Nagarjuna could express himself in terms of more positive affirmations as well, as witnessed in his ‘Praise of the Dharmadhatu’:

So it is not entirely true that Nagarjuna did not speak directly of an Ultimate Reality and by implication ‘union’ with it.

Ah yes, am very familiar with “In Praise of the Dharmadhatu.” This series did not intend to imply that Nagarjuna forsook the Absolute; on the contrary, his negativia was a living expression of IT. C.D. Sebastian in his work implied that, in contrast with John of the Cross for whom the Godhead was the living God through Christ, the Absolute for Nagarjuna was ineffable though profound.
