Bonjour,
When the turning-back (paravritta) takes place, is there a turning-back to the abode of suchness..?.Suchness is the ”Seed” of the transmutation of the basis (asrayaparivrtti)…why do we speak of the purification of Suchness(tathatavisuddhiprabhavita) ?
Merci
Welcome,
No. The Great Turn About is in effect a “turning away” from sensate phenomena, thereby empowering the “Prior” sustaining power of the Unborn to supersede all dualisms. This does entail however a self-realization wherein the hidden Tathagata-gharba, or the “womb” of suchness is predominant–The Lankavatara sutra calls this process pratyatmaryajna. Also, there is no bifurcation within the Absolute Sense of Suchness, hence “The Sea of Suchness and Its Dharma-Womb are one in the same.” Any attempt at purifying SUCHNESS AS IT IS, is a futile endeavor. Perhaps you’re referring to when it is abstracted out when in pluralized obstructed mode, this is when the alaya side of the equation becomes predominant; thus paravriti becomes a corrective measure.
