Thus have I heard as it was revealed. At onetime the Dharma-Lord entered the Deep-Samadhis of the Supreme Illumination of Undivided Spiritual Perfection. It is the One-Samadhi wherein all Tathagatas sublimely abide in splendid Luminosity. It is the Mind-ground of Primordial Enlightenment reserved for the spiritual advancement of sentient beings.
The Blessed-One’s psychophysical apparency went dark in motionless quiescence, during which the three-times exhibited no distinctions as his Supernal-Aura encompassed the ten-directions unreservedly and devoid of all dualities; in such unconditioned transparency innumerable Pure-Lands appeared as if on-cue.
The Blessed One was wondrously escorted by the presence of one hundred thousand prodigious bodhisattva-mahasattvas. Most prominent amongst them were Bodhisattva Mañjuśrī, Bodhisattva Samamtabhadra, Bodhisattva of Universal Vision, Bodhisattva Vajragarbha, Bodhisattva Maitreya, Bodhisattva of Pure Wisdom, Bodhisattva of Marvelous Ease in Majestic Virtue, Bodhisattva of Thorough Discernment, Bodhisattva Cleansed of All Karmic Obstructions, Bodhisattva of Universal Enlightenment, Bodhisattva of Unexcelled Enlightenment, and Bodhisattva Boundless in Virtue and Goodness. Accompanied by all their entourages they also entered into the Tathagatas undivided-samadhi that impartially revealed their spiritual equanimity.
Unlike other sutras that commence in a given location along the Samboghakayic-continuum, such as Vulture Peak, Shravasti, etcetera, The Sutra of Primordial Enlightenment originates within the Deep and Undivided Samadhis of the Tathagata. Truly a locationless affair indicating that all of the [action] to follow is symbolic of the inner-workings of Mind Triumphant. In its ultimate sense within the sutra, it is the Mind-ground of the Shining Ones opening Itself-up in order for sentient beings to advance spiritually along the Luminous plane of Sambhoghakaya.
The presence of the Maha-Bodhisattva-escorts reveals that this particular assembly has already been baptized with sufficient Buddha-gnosis to lend the atmosphere a most Noble stature. The twelve prominent Bodhisattvas will provide the mouthpiece through which the sublime Buddhadharma will articulate the forthcoming stages of enlightenment.
