Mara’s Decoy Self

That which we refer to as Divine Union indicates that one cannot go any further. Indeed, once that state is reached any inward-movement comes to an abrupt end. It is over–unequivocally and unalterably finished. One cannot go beyond the beyond. Silence and solitude are no longer a necessary or dominate function, just an acceptance of this voidness. There will be no lasting sense of peace until all the energies and sensate strata have been absolutely absorbed into the Unborn—yea, a dark and unrelenting void in our spirit. From this point onward all former self-direction is annulled hence voiding any return to former positions of solace in one’s own powers and abilities. Formally, one tried to transcend the “self” that was known in a natural manner, which only turns out to be the artificially impermanent false-self and not the True Self hidden in the Unborn.

The mind now looks deep into itself and sees an empty hole when previously it experienced a taste of the Divine. This emptiness is devoid of a false-self center or ego as well as what was perceived to be the presence of the divine-center. Many mistakenly confuse the Real-Self with Mara’s decoy-self, the ignominious false center and view that is forever ego-bound holding at bay Real-Union with the Unborn. A breakthrough needs to occur wherein the mind no-longer depends solely on the decoy, but now bends totally in the direction of the Actual Divine-Center.

Living at ground-zero with the Unborn means there is no longer any question of how one feels or should feel, because now there is no more conflict, samsaric struggle, or any phenomenal strain since there are no movements forward or backward, either time bound or along the cosmic continuum. Instead, every moment contains within itself the appropriate action for all future events devoid of the need for prior thoughts and/or feelings. One thing is now for certain. If we choose to continue to be enraptured with Mara’s decoy-self, with its wild potpourri consisting of limiting words, definitions and false imaginings, we will never taste the liberation that the Unborn alone can offer. Yea, we will never come to own just how totally secure we really are, and how all the useless struggling for mundane survival and false-self security is a waste of precious effort.
