The Beautiful Land

Growing-up as a small kid in the 1960’s was truly a magical experience—there were muses everywhere—as captured within the music of that era. Nearby where I lived at the time, there used to be a secret passage in a smaller wooded area just off from the main woods—we used to call this wooded area “the little jungle”—anyway, walking through this secret passage would actually bring you out into a beautiful, bright, and vibrant field…literally vibrating with color and texture, complete with bountiful wild flowers…it was as if you could feel yourself “expand” into something greater—I used to call this area the “beautiful land”; it was like entering into an ellipsis of time—wherein time itself seemed to stand-still. Sadly, the beautiful land is now a housing development—just like progress, eh??? And yet, somehow I sense that the magical ellipsis was my first early encounter with a true Buddha-field—a mystical unveiling of far greater mysteries to come.

I wish I was growing up in the 60s! I wish the 60s never ended. Corporate bastards reinstated the patriarchal society and suppressed the magic

Love your description of this experience.

Thanks! It was truly a remarkable, gloriously-magical time!
