Very interesting stuff. I now have four khaṭvāṅgas. One is copper and brass with vajra and phurba, one made of sky iron with a naga head, a small one made of brass and turquoise inlay with a vajra chopper, as well as an ancient one that just arrived from afar with a single flaming skull. I find these tools to be of immeasurable benefit for many different circumstances. For protection and healing the khaṭvāṅga is an unsurpassed and indispensable tool in the tantrikas arsenal. Very powerful and potent spiritual energies.

Each one seems to have its own ‘personality’. Handle these sorts of items with the upmost care.

This is a good question. I will answer this as I we were in a dream.

One on the most profound discoveries of Eastern thought I had encountered up to that point first calling came at an early age by a transformative book I discovered and treasured by a Master named Padmasambhava. Then; later I was drawn to carry the image of Yama throughout the Six Realms even just in this one life alone. Then, I met the fierce Great Black Mahakala in the midst of a strange lucid dream summoning me with the full Moon. My quest led a storied tale. Then in researching how to purify negative karma in an expedient manner I was drawn strongly to always carry the Khaṭvāṅga in practicing.

There is so much more I could say. In Mundane terms I curated them over time at key points in my journey from a a kind source source online here and there in Kathmandu and parts nearby.
